This well currently serves an estimated 2,000 people from the Alebtong community. It is located on church property that also houses a school. The community had been served by a swamp-style water hole that was polluted. This well offers fresh water which has greatly improved the sanitary health of the region. The W. C. Parkey family invested over half of the cost of this well. The remaining portion was provided by the Rotary Club of Sikeston, MO.
